Leaving Brisbane we travel south West to Beaudesert and join up
with Lion’s Road. Lion’s Road was originally built as
a service and construction road for the railway line. As a joint
venture by Lion’s Club it is now a fully sealed road finishing
this side of Kyogle in N.S.W. This drive offers mountain and valley
scenery that could ve viewed in many other countries of the world.
Deep within the rain forest we will have morning tea with the Bellbirds
and Whip birds. From the viewing platform marvel at the hardships
and efforts required to contruct the railway line. Following Running
Creek which we cross a number of times we link up with Mt Lindsay
Highway and climb the range arriving at Rathdowny. Here you can
enjoy lunch and refreshment. Visit the historic museum and buildings
and see life as it was in the late 1800s. Treat yourself to local
honey and conserves.
